MIDDLETON, Wis. (March 5, 2026) – Orthopedic & Spine Centers of Wisconsin (OSCW) officially introduced its new Orthopedic & Spine Surgery Center to the community during a ribbon cutting ceremony held Wednesday, Feb. 18. The event celebrated the completion of the state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center, located at 8124 Forsythia Street in Middleton.
The center is now open and preparing for its first phase of operations, marking a major milestone in expanding access to outpatient orthopedic and spine care for patients in Middleton and the greater Madison region.
Several OSCW physicians attended the Feb. 18 ceremony, including renowned spine surgeon Dr. Tom Zdeblick, who highlighted the importance of bringing this level of specialized care closer to home for local patients.
“Sometimes our Madison- or Middleton-based patients have to travel to receive care,” he said. “Opening a facility in Dane County means a great deal because of that convenience. We’ve been working diligently for nearly three years and ultimately decided we could build something better from the ground up, and I think we succeeded.”
Developed through a strategic partnership between OSCW and Arizona-based Healthcare Outcomes Performance Company (HOPCo), the Orthopedic & Spine Surgery Center reflects a shared commitment to advancing high-quality, value-based musculoskeletal care. The collaboration combines OSCW’s physician leadership with HOPCo’s operational, performance, and growth expertise to support a modern, efficient, outpatient surgical environment.
“HOPCo provided invaluable guidance because they’ve done this before,” said Dr. Zdeblick. “They’ve opened several ASC locations, and having them involved gave us a practical, on-the-ground perspective as we designed the facility.”
Purpose-built for orthopedic and spine procedures, the center features modern operating suites, advanced surgical technology and coordinated clinical workflows designed to support a streamlined, patient-centered experience from start to finish.
“HOPCo is expanding internationally, and as a national organization, this allows us to elevate our standards of quality, efficiency and patient care in a new market,” said Julie Grecu, administrator at Elevation Surgery Center. “It’s an opportunity to share our expertise while continuing to raise the bar.”
Middleton Mayor Emily Kuhn, who also participated in the ribbon cutting, emphasized the community value of the new center.
“We often talk about the need for more centers like this,” she said. “Creating a space that prioritizes high-quality care and a strong customer service experience meets a real need in our community. We’re proud to support that growth here in Middleton.”
Announced in 2025 as part of OSCW’s broader strategic expansion, the Orthopedic & Spine Surgery Center represents a major step forward in delivering convenient, specialized musculoskeletal care to individuals and families throughout the region.
