Madison, WI (April 18, 2023) – Renowned spine surgeon, thought leader and pioneer of many modern spine surgery technologies, Dr. Thomas Zdeblick, has joined Orthopedic & Spine Centers of Wisconsin to provide comprehensive spine care to patients throughout the region. Orthopedic & Spine Centers of Wisconsin recently partnered with Healthcare Outcomes Performance Company (HOPCo), the nation’s largest, fully integrated musculoskeletal physician management and value-based care delivery platform, to engage with the community and grow their program of delivering excellent patient care throughout the region.
Dr. Zdeblick is a board certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon who has been practicing in Madison for over 30 years. He previously served as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Wisconsin, playing an instrumental role in advancing the quality of patient care and surgeon education for decades.
Dr. Zdeblick specializes in both non-surgical care as well as minimally invasive spine surgery and cervical disc replacement. “My philosophy is to first evaluate and educate patients regarding the reason they are struggling with neck or back pain. I typically recommend non-surgical options before discussing surgery,” said Dr. Zdeblick. “I am excited to be joining this program as these expert physicians are all dedicated to delivering top outcomes and value to patients. They have a great team and vision and I am thrilled to be able to contribute and be a part of it”, he added.
Dr. Zdeblick received his orthopedic training from Case Western University, followed by a spine surgery fellowship in both orthopedic surgery and neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. During his career, he has pioneered many advancements in spine surgery and authored more than 140 research studies and book chapters on the subject. With an international reputation as a top researcher and educator, Dr. Zdeblick has served as President of both the prestigious Cervical Spine Research Society and the Lumbar Spine Research Society and is a sought-after lecturer and advocate for processes that advance patient quality outcomes.
“We are excited to add Dr. Zdeblick’s wealth of experience and expertise to our team,” said Dr. Jason Sansone of Orthopedic & Spine Centers of Wisconsin. “His track record of high-quality care aligns perfectly with our mission to provide better outcomes and value to patients throughout Wisconsin.”
Dr. Zdeblick will begin seeing patients on May 16, 2023, at Orthopedic & Spine Centers of Wisconsin’s Madison facility, located at 2501 W Beltline Hwy. To request an appointment, please visit www.orthospinecenters.com or call 608.234.7436.
