Biography

Dayton Opel, MD, is a Board Certified and Fellowship Trained Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Hand & Upper Extremity. Dr. Opel’s practice is centered around providing comprehensive treatment for conditions and injuries affecting the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder, tailoring care to meet the specific needs of his patients. He treats a range of conditions and injuries including carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis & golfers’ elbow, fractures, trigger finger, hand and wrist arthritis, congenital deformities, rotator cuff injuries, and sports related injuries.

Dr. Opel’s guiding principle is that every patient deserves world-class care. Through his education, training, and practice, he feels as though he has been given the privilege and opportunity to positively change his patients’ lives. Dr. Opel works with his patients to fully understand what is responsible for their symptoms and devises a plan to improve their condition. If surgery is necessary, the mission of Dr. Opel’s team is to provide the best possible surgical outcome. “Serving my patients and accomplishing their goals are truly the most important and rewarding parts of providing care,” says Dr. Opel.

In his free time, Dr. Opel enjoys spending time with his wife, three children, and two dogs. They share a strong commitment to their immediate and extended families and are passionate about playing an active role in the improvement of their community. They also enjoy skiing, hiking, camping, tennis, and golf, and are avid Badger and Packers fans.
